Can't I get a £500 website?
Of course you can. Just beware that many web designers sell WordPress websites and then charge monthly maintenance fees because WordPress requires a hands-on approach to keep on top of security and performance issues. Always ask: how much is this website costing me per year?
So how much does a website cost?
The pricing table shows the base price for a sales-ready website (where I craft the words for you) and for a standard website (where you provide the words). The reason I ask for you to get a quote is to ensure that what you want falls in that price bracket. Some clients want a premium logo, branding, and custom solutions, so I have to factor those in.
How long does a website take to build?
Each project is different, and how responsive the client is when they have to send me information plays a big part. Usually, a build averages out at around 3 weeks.
Why should I use a freelancer?
A freelance web designer is more cost-effective than an agency because I don't have to inflate your price to pay for my office and make payroll at the end of the month. Also, you don't get passed on to the apprentice (the experienced designer who founded the company is too busy now) and you don't get those lovely random but never-ending sales calls that start with 'How are you today?'
Do you cover my area?
I've spent almost 20 years working remotely with clients in 21 countries. As much as I would have loved to visit them at those exotic locations, video calls and old-fashioned emails kept us all more efficient. So location is not a problem. If you have WI-FI, I can help you.
Do you visit my premises?
No. This helps me keep down costs, and my prices lower.
How long have you been in business?
As a freelancer, since 2007. Prior to that, I was a co-founder in an IT and web design company where I spent 5 years before exiting to focus on web-only services.
